Author is from a generation that has had a front seat to an economic revolution that is perhaps the greatest in human history, while also being witness to the perversion of the US politic.
Technological innovation has improved and forced the growth of both the American way of life and the economy. During the same period that great material wealth was being created, the political wealth, intelligence, and innovation has diminished greatly. Driven in part by white America's failure to grow and be conscious of an intertwined reality of life in general. Driven by a dearth of true leadership capable of expanding the political intellect and developing truly innovative politics to match the fast growing American lifestyle.
A generation committed to beliefs and action reminiscent of psychosis, where ideas that make sense in pure make-believe form their political philosophies and tenets. Ideas such as the idea that one can carry a gun, kill a bad guy, and be a hero as it is in the TV and the movies. Ideas such as there is a war on Christmas.
Deep-seated feelings that there is an overarching enemy out to destroy America developed which seem to have developed under the Cold War, left citizens lost without it after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and then stoked again when America came under massive terrorist attacks at the dawn of the new millennium. To this day a great portion of the author's generation are fully committed to fighting the fight to save America from the big bad boogeyman.
